When to go

For skiing and snow, it's best to come between December and March, and for hiking and mountains in summer, in July and August.

Getting there

You fly to Tbilisi, and in most cases a flight with a connection may be required, depending on the airline and the season. From there, you travel by car for about two to three hours along the Georgian Military Highway, by organized shuttle or rental car. Before the trip, it's worth checking the current entry conditions and passport requirements, as well as the road conditions in winter.
